This Rolling Block is a single-shot rifle chambered in .43 Spanish. It is the spanish version manufactured by the Spanish Armory at Oviedo under license agreement from Remington.
Since the 1870s these rifles were used by the colonial soldiers through out Spains colonies.
In the Philippines the Rolling Block rifle became the primary firearm of the Guardia Civil and was used extensively through out the 1896 Revolution by both Spanish and revolutionary forces.
