Overview

The Aimpoint Hunter H30S 2 MOA is a compact hunting red dot sight with a traditional riflescope-style profile. It is designed for hunters who want the fast target acquisition of a red dot while using a classic two-ring mounting system.

The Hunter H30S is suitable for compact or lightweight firearms, short- or standard-action rifles, semi-automatic firearms, combination guns, and hunting firearms. Its standard 30 mm tube, precise 2 MOA red dot, and compact format make it a versatile choice for hunting.

2 MOA Red Dot

The 2 MOA red dot provides a fine point of aim while supporting rapid target acquisition. It is suitable for driven hunting, stalking, and situations where the shooter must retain good awareness of the surrounding environment.

The sight operates at 1x, with no magnification and unlimited eye relief. Its operationally parallax-free design supports intuitive both-eyes-open shooting without requiring precise eye alignment behind the optic.

Compact Format and Mounting

The Hunter H30S uses a riflescope-style construction in a compact format. Its 30 mm tube requires standard 30 mm mounting rings, which are not included.

Minimum spacing between mounting rings is 108 mm, and maximum ring width is 30 mm. Confirm ring compatibility with your firearm and follow the mounting manufacturer’s torque recommendations.

Optics and Protection

The sight features a 25 mm aperture and uses anti-reflective coating on the optical surfaces along with multi-layer objective-lens treatment. This design is intended to optimize light transmission and red-dot clarity.

Average light transmission is 60% from 420 to 700 nm. The light source is a 650 nm red LED, designed to be eye-safe under normal operating conditions.

Transparent front and rear flip-up lens covers are included. They help protect the lenses from dust and splashes while retaining practical visibility when the covers are closed.

Battery Life and Settings

The Hunter H30S uses one CR2032 3 V lithium battery. It provides up to 50,000 hours, or more than five years, of continuous operation on a single battery.

Dot intensity is adjusted using a digital push-button control with 12 settings. This model is not compatible with night vision devices.

Durability and Use

The Hunter H30S features a high-strength anodized aluminum housing built for hunting conditions and outdoor environments. It is submersible to 1 m / 3 ft.
