N.Sutter Quercus NS01C Olive Drab — Frame Lock Folding Pocket Knife, Black D2 Blade, Military Green G10 Handle
Overview
The N.Sutter Quercus NS01C Olive Drab is the outdoor and military version of the emblematic Quercus folder by Swiss knifemaker N.Sutter. It retains the mechanics and noble materials of the Quercus line — D2 blade, steel frame lock, ceramic ball bearings, flipper deployment — and dresses them with an Olive Drab G10 scale paired with a black-coated blade.
Like the entire N.Sutter line, every knife carries an individual engraved serial number — the piece's unique identity card. The signature "Knives of excellence" sums up the philosophy: demanding materials, precise execution, timeless style — all at a remarkably competitive price for this level of quality.
The 95 mm drop point D2 blade with black coating offers exceptional edge retention, enhanced corrosion resistance and maximum visual discretion (no reflection). The Olive Drab G10 handle — textured fiberglass epoxy, unalterable, humidity-resistant — provides firm grip and blends perfectly into natural environments (forest, hunting grounds, outdoor operations).
Why the Olive Drab Version?
- Military / outdoor vibe: Olive Drab is THE historical color of military and modern outdoor gear — a strong and immediately recognizable aesthetic signature.
- Natural environment blending: matte olive green blends into forest, hunting and bushcraft settings — an aesthetic and functional asset.
- Catalog differentiation: few premium D2 folders offer OD at this price — a distinctive piece that personalizes EDC in a bold way.
- Match with tactical / outdoor gear: pairs perfectly with belts, holsters, packs and jackets in Olive Drab, Coyote, Ranger Green tones.
- Visual discretion of the black blade: no reflection when handled, an asset in photography, dark or natural environments.
- Enhanced anti-corrosion protection: the black coating protects semi-stainless D2 steel from oxidation, particularly useful in frequent wet use (outdoor, wet-weather hunting, seaside).

The Quercus line is one of the brand's EDC references, offered in several finishes to cover the main use cases — the Olive Drab version specifically targets outdoor, hunting and modern military-style enthusiasts.
What's Included
- 1 N.Sutter Quercus NS01C Olive Drab knife with unique serial number
- 1 original N.Sutter box
Care and Sharpening
- Wipe the blade after any wet use to prevent corrosion (D2 is semi-stainless, not fully stainless).
- Periodically oil the pivot with a fine cutlery oil (one drop).
- Sharpen with a fine ceramic stone (grit 1000/3000) or a guided system — recommended angle ~20° per side.
- Coated blade: sharpening removes the black coating on the cutting edge itself (normal behavior) — creating a fine silver line that shows the sharpening. No impact on cutting performance.
- The black coating may show more visible marks when cutting abrasive materials — normal, giving the knife a use-patina over time.
- Cleaning: microfiber cloth + fine oil. Avoid dishwashers and aggressive cleaners.
