The Daniel Defense MK18 RIII is the ambidextrous evolution of the iconic MK18 SBR — the 10.3" USSOCOM rifle with over 15,000 units in service with US special forces. It preserves the MK18 operational DNA (10.3" Cold Hammer Forged barrel, SOCOM-validated Bolt-Up System, legal framework) and adds two major advances : a proprietary fully ambidextrous lower receiver (bolt catch, safety selector and magazine release accessible from both sides) and the new RIS III 9.5" M-LOK handguard in Flat Dark Earth anodizing. The result : a rifle that is lighter (2.60 kg), faster to manipulate, more ergonomic, and immediately identifiable by its signature two-tone visual identity.

The logical evolution of the MK18

The original MK18 defined a global standard for the CQB AR-15. The RIII does not replace this standard : it extends it. Daniel Defense took the operational DNA of the platform and modernized it on two key axes : total ambidextrous ergonomics to meet the needs of modern shooters (fast transitions, off-hand shooting, bilateral training), and weight reduction through the RIS III M-LOK rail.
