Description

The Smith & Wesson .455 1st Model is a rare and unique revolver that was contracted by the Ministry of Munitions during World War I to cover manufacturing shortages of the Webley Mk VI. This model is chambered in .455 Webley and features a 6.5-inch barrel.

Known as the Pistol Smith & Wesson .455 Mark I, it was introduced into British service in 1915 as a "substitute standard" sidearm alongside the Colt New Service.
